The Peaceful Nation of Nepal

The fellow who drove me here talked about living there, in Katmandu, singing it as a lyric of a Bob Seeger song. Nepal has no independence day to celebrate because it was always independent (over the past 6,000 years?). When the British threatened invasion, the governments sat at a table and Nepal offered property, a small plot of land, ending the conflict. (this description may reference the ceding to the British West India Company of 1/3 of the land of Nepal in 1816.) Britain was in India for 200 years.
